Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha MP and Jana Sena Party leader Lingamaneni Ramesh has said his son Lingamaneni Sanjush is fully cooperating with authorities in the investigation into the August 16 road accident in Hyderabad that claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman.
MP Issues Statement on ‘Heartbreaking’ Incident
In a statement issued on Friday, Ramesh expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and said the incident was “deeply unfortunate and heartbreaking.” He urged people not to speculate about the circumstances of the accident, stressing that the investigation should establish the complete facts.
The statement reads, “It is deeply unfortunate and heartbreaking that the road accident which occurred in Hyderabad on 16th of August, 2026 and which led to the unfortunate loss of the young woman. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family. No words can lessen their grief, and my family and I stand with them during this extremely painful time. We will extend every possible support to the bereaved family. I request you all not to speculate or prejudge the circumstances. The investigation must establish the complete facts.”
‘Son is Fully Co-operating’: Lingamaneni Ramesh
According to the statement, Sanjush, who was driving the vehicle, took the injured woman to a hospital immediately after the accident and subsequently reported the incident to the police. Ramesh said a case was registered and three separate medical tests conducted on his son returned negative.
It stated, “Immediately after the accident, my son, Sanjush, who was driving the vehicle, shifted the young woman to the hospital without any delay. He subsequently reported the accident to the police authorities and provided all the necessary details. A case was duly registered, and three separate medical tests were conducted on my son, which returned negative. The investigation is presently underway, and my son is fully co-operating with the authorities.”
Details of the Fatal Accident
The accident occurred near Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad’s Madhapur area, where 26-year-old Bharati Mukhi, an employee at a store, was fatally hit by an Aston Martin on August 16. Police have named 21-year-old Sanjush as the accused in the case and registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for allegedly causing death by a rash or negligent act.
‘Have Utmost Respect for the Law’
Ramesh said nothing was being concealed and maintained that his family had the “utmost respect for the law.” He added that his son had complied with the procedures required by the authorities and would continue to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
“Nothing is being concealed in this matter, nor have we attempted to avoid the legal process in any way. We have the utmost respect for the law, and my son has complied with every procedure required by the authorities,” the statement reads. The MP also appealed to the public to respect the grief of the bereaved family and refrain from circulating false or unverified information, saying he had full faith that the truth would emerge through a fair and impartial legal process.
It added, “As a person holding a responsible position, I assure everyone that I will extend my complete cooperation to the Police Department and the ongoing investigation. We have full faith that the truth will emerge through a fair and impartial legal process. At this sensitive and painful time, I humbly request everyone to respect the grief of the bereaved family, refrain from spreading false or unverified information and allow the law to take its course.” (ANI)
