South-west monsoon will reach Kerala on June 4
According to the national level forecast of the Meteorological Department, the south-west monsoon may hit Kerala on June 4. After this it will gradually move towards other parts of the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Usually, after reaching Kerala, monsoon moves towards different states of the country in a phased manner. Its entry in Uttar Pradesh is seen from the second fortnight of June till the end of the month under normal circumstances, although the actual situation depends on the weather movements.
El Nino can pose a challenge
El Nino is also a major cause of concern for meteorologists this year. According to the Meteorological Department, the activity of El Nino can affect monsoon activities.
Experts believe that when El Nino conditions occur, there is a change in the ocean temperature, which can affect the strength of the monsoon and the distribution of rainfall. For this reason, this time there is a possibility of less than normal rainfall in the country. However, the final situation will depend on the progress of monsoon and the meteorological conditions in the coming weeks.
