Sahara Refund: This news is no less than a big relief for the investors of Sahara India. If your money is also stuck in Sahara societies, then now the path has become clearer for you to get your earnings back.

Till now only small investors (with small amounts) were able to apply on the Sahara Refund Portal. But now the government has increased its limit.

On the initiative of Home Minister Amit Shah, now even those people who have deposits up to ₹ 10 lakh can ask for their money back. This is a ray of hope for millions of families whose life savings were stuck in these societies.

If you have invested in these four societies, you are entitled to a refund.

  • Sahara Credit Cooperative Society
  • Saharan Universal Multipurpose Society
  • Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society
  • Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society

What is the way to get the money back?

The entire refund process is online, you do not need to visit any office.

  • Visit the portal: First of all log in to ‘CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal’.
  • Keep documents ready: You should have Aadhar card and mobile number linked to it. Without this the application will not be accepted.
  • PAN card required: If your claim is more than ₹50,000, it is mandatory to upload PAN Card.
  • Receipt and Bond: Keep the original receipt of investment, membership number and scanned copy of passbook with you.
  • Important thing: If you had applied earlier and the form was rejected due to some defect, now you can correct it and ‘Resubmit’.

In how many days will the money come?

  • The government has fixed 45 days for this process.
  • First 30 days: Sahara Society will check your documents whether they match with their records or not.
  • Next 15 days: Government officials will approve your claim and the money will be transferred directly to your Aadhaar linked bank account.

Take special care of these 3 things

  • Fill all the details in one go: If you have more than one Sahara bond or receipt, fill them all in one application. There is no facility to fill the form repeatedly for different receipts.
  • Don’t make spelling mistakes: Often claims get rejected due to a small mistake in filling the name or receipt number. Check the form twice before submitting it.
  • Original evidence required: Refund will be given only to those who have original investment documents and whose data matches with the portal.
