Mythological story of Mohini incarnation of Lord Vishnu
According to the legend, when the Amrit Kalash emerged during the churning of the ocean, a war broke out between the gods and the demons to get it. The demons were strong and wanted to drink the nectar so that they could become immortal and defeat the gods. To protect the gods, Lord Vishnu took the form of a very beautiful woman, who was called Mohini. Mohini captivated the demons with her beauty and cleverness. By engaging the demons in conversation, he took over the distribution of the nectar and gave all the nectar to the gods to drink. Thus, it was only because of Mohini incarnation that religion was protected and the gods could become immortal.

On the day of Mohini Ekadashi, there is a tradition of worshiping the Mohini form of Lord Vishnu. On the day of Ekadashi, wake up before sunrise, take bath and wear yellow clothes. Take a pledge to fast with water in your hand in front of the idol of Lord Vishnu. Install a picture of Lord Vishnu by spreading a yellow cloth on a stool. Offer yellow flowers, Panchamrit, Tulsi leaves, fruits and incense sticks to God. Read or listen to the fasting story of Mohini Ekadashi. Worship with Om Jai Jagdish Hare Aarti.
