Before the Adelaide Test, a big good news has come for Team India. Team India’s veteran pacer Mohammed Shami is now considered certain to play in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. According to the report, Shami, who has been out of the team for almost a year due to injury, can leave for Australia any time. At present he is in Rajkot and is participating in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on behalf of Bengal. He will take off as soon as he gets the green signal from the selectors and NCA.
When will Shami join Team India?
According to the report of Cricbuzz, some officials and selectors of the National Cricket Academy are present in Rajkot to check the fitness of Mohammed Shami. He is keeping his eyes on Shami. He still has to play some group stage matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. During this time, it will be seen whether his body is ready to handle the workload of high intensity matches required in the Test against Australia or not. For this, BCCI has sent Sports Science Wing head Nitin Patel, trainer Nishant Bardule and selector SS Das to Saurashtra.
Shami will be sent to Australia only after getting the green signal from the Sports Science Department of the Board. Actually, BCCI does not want to take any risk regarding Shami and wants to be completely sure whether he is 100 percent ready for the match or not before sending him for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Let us tell you that India still has to play four matches in the 5-match Test series and Shami can go to Australia for the last two or three matches.
Shami got the task
NCA trainers are continuously working hard for the comeback of Mohammed Shami. His effort is to make Shami ready for Australia as soon as possible. For this we are working together with them. According to the report, the NCA trainer worked with Shami in Rajkot till Saturday and now he has returned back to Bengaluru. But before that, some fitness drills have been given for him, which he will have to do daily during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches.
