Mohammad Nawaz, PCB investigation: Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Nawaz has been found positive in drug test, due to which he is now under the radar of PCB. Pakistan Cricket Board will now investigate the Mohammad Nawaz case, ESPNcricinfo has revealed this in its report. Due to the investigation, Nawaz’s deal to join Surrey for the T20 Blast in England has been cancelled.
PCB started investigation after ICC information
Regarding Mohammad Nawaz, who has played 98 T20 Internationals for Pakistan so far, a PCB spokesperson told ESPNcricinfo that the ICC has informed the PCB about this. After receiving the information, PCB has started investigation. Whatever comes out in the investigation will be informed to ICC today itself. Let us tell you that ICC has contacted PCB on April 22 regarding Mohammad Nawaz.
Failed in test during T20 World Cup
According to ESPNcricinfo, Mohammad Nawaz has been found positive in the drug test conducted during this year’s T20 World Cup. 32 year old Nawaz had participated in all the matches played by Pakistan in Sri Lanka. Pakistan team was eliminated from the Super-8 stage of T20 World Cup 2026, in which apart from scoring 15 runs, Nawaz took 7 wickets.
News of cancellation of contract with Surrey
Mohammad Nawaz had recently signed a deal against Surrey. He was going to be available for the county team throughout the T20 Blast season, which is to be held from 26 May to 18 July. PCB had also given NOC i.e. No Objection Certificate to Mohammad Nawaz for T20 Blast 2 weeks ago. But, now there is news that after the PCB investigation against Nawaz, his contract with Surrey has been cancelled. However, no statement has come from Surrey in this regard yet.
