Patna (Bihar): Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a record railway budget of more than Rs 10,000 crore for Bihar. He described the move as “a new way” of developing the state’s rail infrastructure. Speaking to reporters on reaching Patna, Vaishnav said, “Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated a railway budget of more than Rs 10,000 crore for Bihar. At present, work on railway projects worth about Rs 1.15 lakh crore is going on in Bihar. Railways are being developed in a very new way in the state.”

The Minister announced the launch of several important projects aimed at increasing capacity in the area. He said, “To increase the capacity of the entire Patna area, a new station with five new platforms is being built at Hardinge Park; it is being fully developed. Fatuha, located near Patna, is also undergoing a lot of new development.
A new express train from Chhapra to Delhi
Vaishnav also informed that a new milestone in connectivity is being achieved today with the launch of a new express train. The minister said, “Today a new express train will be started from Chhapra to Delhi.”

Emphasizing the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative in the railway sector, Vaishnav said that Bihar has now become a hub of global exports. He said, “Locomotives (train engines) made in Bihar are now being exported. Today, the 51st locomotive engine from Bihar’s Marhaura plant will be exported to the African country Guinea.
Now will go directly to Delhi instead of Sonpur/Banaras
BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy welcomed the launch of the new train service, calling it a long-standing demand of the people of Para and surrounding areas.
