NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the centenary celebrations of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in the national capital on Thursday.
The programme will mark the culmination of year-long celebrations that began on October 1 last year to commemorate 100 years since the commission’s establishment in 1926.
In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said Modi would release a UPSC centenary commemorative coin, a commemorative stamp and a book titled ‘100 Landmark Judgements- Shaping the Policies of UPSC and Public Service Commissions in India’.
Participants will include chairpersons and members of State Public Service Commissions, senior Central government officers, academics and UPSC officials.
The event is part of a two-day programme organised by the UPSC on September 30 and October 1. The first day will feature ‘Shatabdi Samaroh – Manthan’ at Bharat Mandapam, with addresses by eminent speakers followed by panel discussions on various themes.
