Texas Super Kings vs San Francisco Unicorns, MLC 2026: In the 8th match of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026, Texas Super Kings (TSK) defeated San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) by 22 runs on the basis of their excellent bowling. In this match played at the Oakland Coliseum, the Texas team, batting first, scored 161 runs, in response to which the San Francisco Unicorns team got bundled out for only 139 runs in 17.4 overs. In this match, 24 year old Amashi de Silva was the biggest hero of the victory of Texas Super Kings.
Amashi de Silva’s stormy performance
Chasing the target of 162 runs, San Francisco Unicorns had an aggressive start but the process of falling wickets did not stop. The team lost three wickets inside the powerplay itself. Amashi de Silva dismissed Finn Allen in his first over and then broke the back of the Unicorns by taking two more wickets in the fifth over. He took a total of 4 wickets in this match and gave only 28 runs.
Along with this, he also ran out Sanjay Krishnamurthy, which surprised everyone. Amshi de Silva, showing agility on the boundary, first stopped the ball and then showed Sanjay Krishnamurthy the way to the pavilion by hitting a direct hit from the boundary itself. Amashi de Silva single-handedly bowled out San Francisco Unicorns’ last team. Due to which the San Francisco Unicorns team was reduced to 139 runs in 17.4 overs. Amashi de Silva was also named player of the match for his lethal performance.
Faf du Plessis’s stormy innings
Earlier, after losing the toss and coming to bat, Texas Super Kings were given a strong start by captain Faf du Plessis and Saiteja Mukkamulla by giving an opening partnership of 72 runs. During this, Faf du Plessis scored 40 runs in 24 balls, which included 2 fours and 3 sixes. After some early wickets falling in the middle, Donavan Ferreira finally took charge. Ferreira played a stormy innings of 45 runs with the help of 4 sixes in just 28 balls and took the team’s score to 161 runs. Due to which Texas Super Kings achieved their second win of the season.
