mMercedes-Benz India has launched the new Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic Plus, giving a new boost to hybrid technology in the Indian luxury car market. This performance sedan is the country’s first electrified AMG E-Class model. The car is available in two variants – Performance Edition and Racing Edition, priced at Rs 1.45 crore and Rs 1.48 crore, ex-showroom respectively. The company said that the delivery of the car will start soon.
Tremendous power of petrol and electricity
The new AMG E 53 Hybrid is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine alone generates power of 449 BHP. Along with this, a 120 kW electric motor fitted in a 9-speed automatic transmission also works.
Both together give a total power of 585 BHP and torque of 750 Nm. If the Race Start system is activated, the power briefly increases to 612 BHP. Mercedes-Benz claims that this sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.8 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 250 kmph, but this can be increased to 280 kmph with the AMG Driver Package.
Will run more than 100 kilometers even if petrol runs out
The car has a 400-volt battery pack with a capacity of 28.6 kWh, with a usable capacity of 21.2 kWh. With the help of this battery, the car can travel more than 100 kilometers on electricity alone once it is fully charged. In electric mode its top speed can go up to 140 kilometers per hour. It has an 11 kW AC onboard charger as standard. Through regenerative braking system, the energy generated during braking is stored back in the battery.
Technology that makes driving more fun
AMG ride control suspension, 4Matic Plus all-wheel drive system and active rear axle steering are the big features of this car. At low speeds, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front wheels and at higher speeds, they turn in the same direction, improving control and stability. Apart from Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, Slippery and Individual driving modes, it also has hybrid modes like Electric and Battery Hold. The Dynamic Plus package also includes high-performance brakes, a performance steering wheel, and a race start system.
Premium sound system with 17 speakers
The AMG E 53 Hybrid is also quite attractive in terms of design. It has a lighted AMG grille, front bumper with large air intake, 20-inch alloy wheels, four exhaust pipes and AMG rear diffuser and spoiler, which give it a sporty look.
Inside the cabin, AMG sports seats with red stitching, digital display with AMG graphics, Track Pace system and hybrid energy monitoring screen are provided. For music lovers, there is also a 730-watt 17-speaker Burmester 4D surround sound system. Apart from this, sunblinds for the rear seats and electric powered rear window blinds are also provided.
The new Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid is a brilliant combination of performance, luxury and the latest hybrid technology. This model targets premium customers who want to enjoy fast driving along with daily usage.
