Women with IUD should not use it
Experts say that if you have got an IUD (a T-shaped device that is placed inside the uterus to prevent pregnancy) i.e. Intra Uterine Device, then do not use a menstrual cup, because there is a fear of the contraceptive strings attached to this device getting pulled while taking it out. This may cause contraceptive failure and also cause pain.

In case of surgery or abortion
Doctor Tanya says that if you have had any vaginal surgery recently. Even if you have had an abortion or child birth, you can wear a menstrual cup if you do not want any kind of discomfort during this period for 6 weeks. If you want to keep your body very relaxed then you should avoid using menstrual cup.
Vaginismus
If you have vaginismus then you should avoid using menstrual cups. Actually, this is a situation in which the muscles around the vagina shrink and due to this you may face difficulty in using tampons or menstrual cups.
Avoid if not comfortable
Even today, many women do not find it convenient to use a menstrual cup, because it has to be inserted into the vagina. Dr. Tanya also says that if you are not comfortable then do not use it at all.
