The police is now identifying the businessmen playing casino at Hotel Harmony located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Their number has now exceeded 50. Businessmen had come to play casino in the hotel by paying an entry fee of Rs 1 lakh. Those coming to the casino are being identified. The coins used in the casino were sourced from Gurugram and Goa. Police had recovered more than 1.5 crore casino coins during the raid.
Casino is legally illegal on Indian soil. Late last Monday, Meerut Police had received information about a casino being run at Hotel Harmony. When the police raided the 3 star Hotel Harmony Inn in Meerut, an illegal casino was found running. Here the police have recovered many other things including coins used in the casino. Booking to enter the casino was done through a special card. Police have arrested eight people from the hotel. In which hotel owner Naveen Arora is also included. A case has been registered against 15 people. Naveen Arora is associated with the trade union and has also been a BJP official around the year 2012. At the same time, layer by layer, the police is now busy finding connections to the casino.
Table and coins had arrived 15 days ago
Police investigation has so far revealed that the casino table and casino coins were brought from Goa and Gurugram. Police say that it has been found that some people had reached here from there also. If sources are to be believed, the casino equipment was brought to the hotel about 15 days ago and after that it was publicized, booking was done through conversation on WhatsApp call. In this case, more than 50 traders had registered and each person had an entry fee of Rs 1 lakh.
Police busy searching for businessmen
It is being told that the police is busy searching and identifying everyone coming there regarding the casino being run at Hotel Harmony Inn. According to the information, based on the recording of CCTV video, about 50 to 60 people had come. In which many people have been identified. These people will be called for questioning. The concerned department will soon start its investigation on the report sent by the police against the hotel.
