The police has got a big success in the case of violence that took place on February 8 in Banbhulpura, Haldwani, Uttarakhand. Haldwani Police arrested Abdul Moeed, son of the main accused Abdul Malik, who was absconding after the violence, from Delhi. Several teams of Haldwani police and SOG were searching everywhere for Abdul Moeed, who was absconding since February 8. Meanwhile, information was received about his hiding in Delhi. The police arrested him by conducting a raid last Wednesday.
Actually, among the nine wanted men involved in the Banbhulpura violence, only Abdul Moeed was absconding. The police had also started preparations to declare a reward on Abdul Moeed, but the police got many important clues from his father Abdul Malik, who was arrested on February 24. As soon as the information was received, the police had formed 5 teams to arrest Abdul Moeed. These teams were sent to Delhi, Jaipur, Punjab, Chandigarh and Western Uttar Pradesh. A reward of Rs 5,000 has been announced by the DIG, while a reward of Rs 2,500 has been announced by the SSP to the arresting team.

Violence took place in Banbhulpura on February 8, in which 5 people died. While revealing the conspiracy of violence, SSP Prahlad Meena had said that Abdul Malik is the mastermind of this entire incident. Police arrested Abdul Malik on 24 February. Till now 8 wanted persons had been arrested in the case, but after a lot of struggle by the police, finally Abdul Moeed was also arrested.
Action will be taken against the accused under UAPA
To catch Abdul Moeed, the SOG team raided more than 50 places from Delhi to many cities of Western Uttar Pradesh. At present, Haldwani police has taken action under UAPA after arresting the main accused of the incident, Abdul Malik. Now the police is also preparing to take action against Abdul Malik’s son Abdul Moeed and 35 other named and arrested people under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act i.e. UAPA.
