Hyderabad (Telangana) [भारत]July 10 (ANI): At least seven shops, including car repair units and decorative goods shops, were gutted in a massive fire behind the Musi river in Hyderabad’s Chadderghat area. Emergency teams successfully brought the fire under control about an hour after the incident. The incident caused massive damage to property, but no injuries or casualties. Officials then requested the public not to spread unverified information until the incident was under police surveillance. At least 7 fire tenders were deployed at the spot to control the fire.
DCP South Zone Khare Kiran said, “A fire incident was received behind the Musi river in Chaddarghat. At around 4:30 pm, we received a call and along with the fire department, police also reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. Prima facie, around seven shops have been gutted in the fire. These include car repair shops and shops selling decorative items. The fire has been brought under control. There are no casualties reported. There are about seven fire engines at the spot. If necessary, we will call more fire engines.”
DCP South Zone further said, “I request that no one should spread false news. The police will thoroughly investigate the cause of the fire. We will also ensure that such incidents do not happen again in Hyderabad.” The DCP said, “Police received information about the fire around 4:30 pm. Immediately, the police and fire departments swung into action and called fire tenders. Efforts to control the fire were going on for the last one hour… About seven shops have been completely gutted in this fire. Most of these were car repair shops, along with one shop of decorative items used for function halls. The fire is now under control…”

In another fire incident, three people died after a cylinder exploded at a house in Kalakwara area of Miryalaguda in Telangana late Thursday night, officials said. According to a fire department official, the fire was reported around 12:30 am, following which a fire engine was sent to the spot. “At around 12.30 am last night, we received information that a house had caught fire in Kalakwara, Miryalaguda. A fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Three people died due to a cylinder explosion. We are investigating the matter. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The deceased include an elderly woman, a girl and a boy. We will give more details once the investigation is completed,” the fire official said.

Earlier, on Friday, a massive fire broke out in a commercial helmet market in Ameerpet area of Hyderabad. Fire fighting teams were sent to the spot to stop the fire from spreading nearby. Hyderabad Police confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far. “A fire broke out at a helmet market in Ameerpet, Hyderabad.
