Maruti Suzuki has launched its first electric car e-Vitara, with prices starting at ₹10.99 lakh. It is available in two battery options with a range of up to 543km. Its booking has started for ₹21,000.
long After much wait, Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle e-Vitara has finally gone on sale in India. This electric vehicle comes in three variants, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Its ex-showroom price starts from Rs 10.99 lakh. Under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, buyers will have to pay an additional Rs 3.99/km to rent the battery. The complete price list of the vehicle has not been released yet. Booking has now started for Rs 21,000.
Warranty and complimentary offers
The company is also offering free charging for one year along with free home charger and installation worth Rs 50,000. Additionally, buyers will get the assured benefit of eight years warranty on battery, 3+5 years paid warranty on EV and 60 percent buyback after three years.
Range
Maruti e-Vitara has two battery pack options of 49kWh and 61kWh. The small 49kWh battery pack comes with a front-mounted electric motor. It produces 144bhp of power and gives an ARAI-certified range of 440 km. At the same time, the larger 61kWh battery variant gives a maximum power of 174bhp. It gives a range of 543km in a single charge. The torque of both the setups is the same at 189Nm. A 2WD (two-wheel drive) system comes standard across the lineup. It is worth noting that the 49kWh battery pack will be available only in the entry-level Delta trim, while the Zeta and Alpha trims come with a larger battery pack.
Maruti e-Vitara charging time and options
The 49kWh variant takes 6.5 hours to charge from 10 to 80 percent using a 7.4kWh charger, while the version with the 61kWh battery pack takes 9 hours. This EV also supports DC fast charger, and it takes just 45 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent with a charger up to 70kW.
Features
The e-Vitara gets a dual-tone interior theme, with a flat-bottom steering wheel, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital driver display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, fixed glass sunroof, connected car tech, 10-way powered driver seat, drive modes, sliding and reclining rear seats and Features like Infinity Sound System are included.
Safety Features
In terms of safety, the new Maruti electric SUV also gets features like seven airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake and level 2 ADAS as standard.
