Mango stronghold in Uttar Pradesh
The mango stronghold of India is in Malihabad tehsil of Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh. Mango orchards can be seen in several thousand acres here and people have been cultivating mangoes here for generations. Mangoes are mainly grown in the rural belts of Malihabad, Mall Block, Kakori and Rahimabad. Most of India’s mangoes are grown in Uttar Pradesh. This state has 23.58% share in mango production. There are 15 mango belts spread in about 13 districts in this state and the total production is about 45 lakh metric tons.
These varieties grow the most
Some varieties of mango like Dussehri, Chausa, Safeda and Langra are very popular in Malihabad belt. Many mango varieties like Amrapali, Lakhauda, Jawahari (Safeda) are grown here. Each mango variety is known for its distinct taste and aroma.

Mango Man is in Malihabad
Kalimullah Khan here is known as Mango Man and has also been honored with Padma Shri. Actually, he has created many new varieties of mango through grafting technique and every year he keeps adding new varieties to it. He has also planted a unique mango tree on which more than 300 varieties of mangoes have grown.

If you basically talk about the nutrients of mango, then according to the US Department of Agriculture, many nutrients like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin C, folate, vitamin A, lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin K are found in mango.
