The screenshot shows a WhatsApp chat between a female employee and her manager. The employee first asked, “Sir, can I start work after 12 o’clock?” She added, “Because I have some health issues.”
The manager kindly replied, “Okay, no problem,” and then asked if there were any serious health issues. The employee replied, “No, just normal body panic.” Then the manager said, “Oh, are you on your periods?” And he said, “Yes.” After this, the manager consoled her and said, “Okay, take care. You are new so maybe you don’t know. We give 2-3 days leave to the girls if they are not feeling well during periods. You rest properly for 2 days.”
The employee replied that leave was not needed and that she could work. Then the manager ended the conversation by saying, “Hey Bindas, relax, there will be no salary cut.”

People’s opinion on social media
As soon as this screenshot spread online, people gave different opinions in the comment section. Some praised the manager’s wisdom, while others discussed how sensitive such conversations could be in the office.
One user said, “The way she asked ‘Are you having periods?’, salute to her courage. Half of the managers would have been facing POSH case after this statement.”
Another commented, “Information about leave benefits for new joiners should have been in the welcome mail or benefits portal, because not every girl is comfortable disclosing that she is on her period.”
One wrote, “This woman is probably being treated like this because of her good behavior. Not all women deserve respect. Before expecting good behavior from others, behave well yourself.”
Another user shared his bad experience and wrote, “My manager had called me to the office to guide me in making the report after being discharged from ICU. Managers are mostly bastards.”
Someone sarcastically wrote, “Next time, plan before or after the weekend so that you can easily get a break of 5 days.”
Another comment read, “There was no need to ask for details and get personal. An employee can take sick leave, and his health is his personal matter. There was no need to ask what the actual health problem was.”
