This month started from 17th May. Adhikamas is also called Purushottam month, because this month is dedicated to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu. This month is also called Malmas.

The month of Malmas is for bathing, charity, chanting, penance and meditation. By doing these things in this month, one gets a lot of virtue. In this month, auspicious and auspicious works like marriage, engagement, naming, Mundan Sanskar and house warming are not done, because this is the time to stay away from worldly pleasures. However, as soon as Malmas ends on June 15, auspicious and auspicious things will start again, but do all the auspicious and auspicious things before July 25.

Marriage time after the end of Malamas

With the conclusion of Malamas, auspicious and auspicious works will start from June 19. According to astrologers, June 19 is an auspicious time for marriage. After Malamas, the auspicious days for marriage are on 19th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th in June. There are a total of 4 auspicious times available for marriage in the next month i.e. July. In this month, marriages will take place on 01 July, 06 July, 07 July and 11 July.

Special importance of Chaturmas

Chaturmas has special significance in Hindu religion. Many important fasts and festivals take place in Chaturmas. Chaturmas is the period when Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the sustainer of the world, goes into Yoga Nidra. Chaturmas is of four months. Since during this time Lord remains in Yoga Nidra and resting state, hence auspicious and auspicious works are not done in Chaturmas. Chaturmas starts from Devshayani Ekadashi and ends on Devuthani Ekadashi.

Auspicious work will not happen from 25th July

According to the Panchang, in the year 2026, Chaturmas will start on Saturday, July 25, from Devshayani Ekadashi of Ashadha Shukla Paksha. This holy period will last for about 119 days and will end on Friday, November 20, with Devuthani Ekadashi of Kartik Shukla Paksha. Since, Chaturmas will start from 25th July. Therefore, no auspicious or auspicious work can be done after this. This is the reason why pundits and astrologers are advising to complete auspicious and auspicious work before July 25.
