The National Commission for Homeopathy has taken cognizance of cases of libelous, defamatory, misleading and unsubstantiated statements about Homeopathy and registered Homeopathic doctors on print, electronic, digital and social media platforms. - Any communication, publication, notice, press release, social media post, website content or government document (including FIRs, official notices, press briefings or complaints) that refers to registered homeopathic doctors as “quacks” will be misleading, defamatory and damaging to professional reputation. Saying such things may be a violation of applicable legal provisions and constitutional rights of registered homeopathic doctors.
- All doctors, institutions and stakeholders are advised to exercise caution while issuing public statements related to homeopathy and homeopathic doctors. Along with this, avoid using such language which can be defamatory, misleading or biased.
- Where there are concerns about the conduct of an individual doctor, such matters should be resolved through applicable statutory, regulatory, disciplinary or legal means rather than through general comments about the homeopathy profession or its registered doctors.
- The Commission reiterates its unwavering commitment to protect the dignity, integrity and legal status of the homeopathy profession and its registered doctors. Any deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of Homeopathy or its practitioners, misrepresent them or question their credibility without any reasonable cause will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
