Main Door Vastu: The main door of the house is the lion door, is it auspicious or inauspicious to sit in front of it in the evening?

It is inauspicious to sit at the door in the evening

Singh Dwar Importance: Astrologer Dr. Basavaraj Guruji says that in Indian culture, the house and every part of it has its own special importance and sanctity. The main door of the house is called Singhdwar. This door is not only the entrance but also the center of energy of the house. However, in many homes, especially in villages and cities, there is a tradition of sitting in front of the door or in the verandah in the evening. Guruji has spoken on this question whether this practice is auspicious or inauspicious.

He said that people often sit in front of their houses in the evening at the time of sunset. The main reason for this is to find peace of mind, to see people coming and going on the road or to talk to neighbors. However, at this time it is more common to discuss worldly matters, rather than chanting the name of any deity or doing spiritual contemplation.

The main door is the power center of the house

Guruji said that the main gate of the house or the lion gate is considered very sacred. It would not be wrong to call it the power center of the house. This door has the ability to attract positive energies and allow them to enter the house. While installing this door, there is a tradition of keeping gold, silver, old coins or some sacred objects of the family below it. This gives the door even more divine power.

He said that Singh Dwar has immense power during the morning Brahmi Muhurta, Abhijeet Muhurta and especially the evening Godoli Muhurta. It is believed that Mahalakshmi enters the house at this time. Being the boundary and entrance of the house, any auspicious energy first enters through this door, hence it is very important to keep this door clean and pure at all times.

Why is it inauspicious to sit at the door in the evening?

It is said in the scriptures that it is not auspicious to sit at such a holy place, where Mahalakshmi enters in the evening.

Entry of negative energies: It is believed that the flow of negative energies increases in the evening. The person sitting in front of the house can act as a gatekeeper for these energies, so that they can easily enter the house.

Unnecessary things and stress: Many people sitting in front of the door talk excessively about neighbours, passers-by, their married life, children, career and many other things. Such gossip and unnecessary talks bring negative energy into the house and create tension among the family members. This disturbs the peace and prosperity of the house.

Obstacles in the entry of Mahalakshmi: If any person is sitting at the entrance of Mahalakshmi, it may create obstacles in the entry of Lakshmi. Besides, inauspicious things also do not please Goddess Lakshmi.

Mythological story about the main door of the house

The story of the killing of Hiranyakashipu in Vishnu Purana also highlights the importance of the Lion Gate. Narasimha kills Hiranyakashipu by placing him at the threshold of the house. This shows the power and importance of the threshold. It is not appropriate to sit unnecessarily at such a holy place and indulge in negative activities, hence sitting in front of the door in the evening is not considered auspicious. Be it a family member or a stranger, sitting at this sacred place disturbs the peace of the house and prevents the entry of positive energy.
