If you also like to buy Mahindra car then this information will surprise you. Mahindra’s Scorpio-N is the best selling SUV. This SUV is well known for its safety features. It has been given a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. But you will be surprised to know that this SUV has failed in Australian Crash Test (ANCAP). This SUV has scored zero in ANCAP crash test. Before the arrival of the SUV, Anand Mahindra had made big claims about this car. But why did Mahindra Scorpio-N fail in Australia, know the reason here.
This is why Mahindra Scorpio-N got zero rating
Mahindra Scorpio-N got a poor rating in Australia because ANCAP gives 0-star to all vehicles without advanced driver assist systems. Whether this platform takes into account anything else or not, if the vehicle does not have Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), then it gives 0-star by default in terms of safety rating. For your information, let us tell you that currently ADAS feature has not been added to Mahindra SUV N.
ANCAP test report
According to this report, the SUV has got a score of 14.27 out of 16 in the child occupant protection test, and 8 out of 8 in the side dynamic test. The only requirement for ANCAP vehicles is that they be equipped with ADAS feature, this was updated on January 1, 2023, currently ANCAP has given this SUV a score of 0 out of 18 for not being equipped with ADAS feature.
Features like Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) like Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEB) and Lane Support System (LSS) are not provided in the Australian Scorpio-N.
Anand Mahindra had made big claims
A user tagged Anand Mahindra on the Twitter platform and tweeted about Mahindra Scorpio N while mentioning Rohit Shetty. In its reply, Anand Mahindra, while mentioning Rehit Shetty, had said that now you will need a nuclear bomb to blow up this vehicle.

Company’s response to 0-star rating
After receiving this rating from ANCAP, the company replied that Mahindra’s dedication to providing safe, reliable SUVs to its customers is unwavering. Scorpio-N was given a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP on July 1, 2022 in the new crash test protocol. This SUV became India’s first body-on-frame SUV to achieve 5 star rating.
According to the specific requirements of ANCAP, the company is preparing to meet these safety rules and requirements for Australia as part of its product mid-cycle update. The upcoming SUV will be updated and will also meet the latest ANCAP safety norms.
