According to pundits and astrologers, on Mahashivratri, Bhadra will reside in the underworld.

It is said in the scriptures that when Bhadra is in the underworld, it does not affect the earth. Therefore, on the day of Mahashivratri, devotees can perform Jalabhishek and worship Lord Shiva without any confusion.

This year, there are many auspicious times for Jalabhishek of Mahadev on the day of Mahashivratri. On this day, the first Muhurta will be from 08:24 am to 09:48 am. The second Muhurta will be from 09:48 am to 11:11 am. The third nectar will be the best time. This will last from 11:11 am to 12:35 pm. The auspicious time in the evening will be from 06:11 to 07:47. Devotees can perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva during all these auspicious times.
