Even after almost a week after the results of Maharashtra Assembly elections came out, the mystery of power in Mahayuti has not been solved yet. As the days are progressing, the problem regarding the formation of the new government is also increasing. It is not decided at the moment who will be the CM of Maharashtra, but it is almost certain that he will be from BJP. Acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is currently in his native village Satara.
He is likely to reach Mumbai by this evening. If Shinde does not come to Mumbai by this evening, it will again be linked to his displeasure. Shinde is seeking finance and home portfolios as minister. In the previous government, both the Home and Finance ministries were with the Deputy Chief Minister.
There is currently a denial on this proposal from BJP. BJP has offered him (Shinde) PWD along with Deputy CM.
All eyes on Eknath Shinde’s next step
Even though the CM face has not been decided in Maharashtra, the date and place of swearing in has almost been decided. According to sources, it is being said that the swearing in of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra will take place on December 5 at 1 pm. This ceremony can be held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Before this, all eyes are on the formation of Maharashtra government and the next step of acting CM Shinde. Maharashtra’s acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is suffering from fever and throat infection for the last two days. He is recuperating in his native village Satara.
Eknath Shinde suddenly reached his village on Friday. The proposed meeting of NDA in Maharashtra was canceled due to Shinde going to Satara. At the same time, this meeting of Mahayuti can be held late tonight in Mumbai or tomorrow i.e. on Monday in Delhi, in which departments can be discussed. Yesterday i.e. on Sunday, Ajit Pawar had said that the Chief Minister in Maharashtra will be from BJP only. Deputy CMs will be made from allies. But Ajit did not tell who would get the command.
BJP has 132 seats so CM will be theirs – Ajit
In Pune, Ajit Pawar said that during the Delhi meeting of Mahayuti leaders, it was decided that Mahayuti will form the government with the Chief Minister of BJP and the Deputy Chief Ministers of the remaining two parties. This is not the first time there has been a delay. If you remember, in 1999 it took one month to form the government. He further said that as far as the division of ministries is concerned, after the swearing in of the Chief Minister, the Chief Minister of the state has the full right to divide the ministries. There is no tension whatsoever.
Ajit said that Eknath Shinde Saheb has also clearly said that whatever decision Amit Shah and Modi ji take is acceptable to us. We have already made our role clear. Obviously they have 132 seats so the Chief Minister will be theirs. Ajit said that Shinde Saheb is not angry. Was stuck in campaign for so many days. The acting Chief Minister does not have much work on Saturday and Sunday, so he has gone to his native village.
