The second meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) was held in Delhi on Friday regarding the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The names of the candidates were brainstormed in this meeting. According to sources, Rahul Gandhi has expressed his displeasure over giving some seats of Vidarbha, Mumbai and Western Maharashtra to Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena UBT. The situation became such that Rahul Gandhi left the meeting midway and walked out. However, even after this the CEC meeting continued for about an hour.
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi expressed objection to the names of some candidates from Maharashtra whose names were put forward by big leaders. Rahul has also expressed his displeasure over the criteria for selection of these candidates.

According to sources, some leaders of Maharashtra Congress have put forward the names of their close ones or relatives to give tickets on many seats. There are many leaders who are asking for tickets for their family members. Rahul Gandhi has expressed displeasure over this also.
After the CEC meeting, Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole said that our second list will be released today and the third list will be released tomorrow. You will see our better performance in Maharashtra. Maha Vikas Aghadi government will come to power in Maharashtra with full majority. We are demanding some seats. We have tried to do justice to the OBC (candidates) on the seats we have got.

He said that Congress will perform better than Lok Sabha in this election. MVA government will come in Maharashtra. In the meeting, we gave complete information about seat sharing to Rahul Gandhi. He said that the more rallies Modi and Shah hold, the more benefit we will get.
At the same time, Congress’s election in-charge for Maharashtra Assembly elections, Ramesh Chennithala said that everything is fine in Mahavikas Aghadi. We will fight elections together.
