An interesting sight was seen while opening the donation box of Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple in Gwalior of the state. The temple administration found many such slips along with offerings of cash and silver, in which devotees had written down their wishes to Lord Shiva.

Some of these vows were so unique that even the temple employees were surprised after reading them. The temple trust opened the donation boxes for the month of June in the presence of bank and district administration officials. During counting, about Rs 5.52 lakh in cash, silver snakes and some old coins were found. Along with this, dozens of handwritten slips also came out, in which people had placed their wishes in front of Lord Shiva.

What was written in the slip?

The note written by a young man is being discussed the most. He prayed to Lord Shiva to make him rich soon and his monthly income should reach Rs 1 lakh. Along with this he also wrote many resolutions. He said that until his earning reaches Rs 1 lakh per month, he will not waste time, will not go to anyone’s house without any reason, will not make false promises and will not day dream. The most interesting thing is that he also wrote that no matter how many handsome boys he sees on the way, he will not look at them until his income reaches Rs 1 lakh per month. This unique vow has also become a topic of discussion on social media.

Mannat for NEET exam

The second slip found in the donation box was from a student. He prayed to Lord Shiva that he should be successful in the re-NEET exam and get admission in any government medical college of Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, many other devotees wished for getting a government job, good health of the family, education of children, removal of financial problems and happiness and prosperity. According to the Temple Trust, such slips found in the donation box show that devotees offer not only money but also their hopes, dreams and resolutions of life to God. Many people believe in conveying their personal problems and future plans to God through these slips. Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the major religious places of Gwalior, where a large number of devotees come for darshan throughout the year. A huge crowd of devotees gather here during Sawan, Mahashivratri and other special occasions. This time, the unique vows received from the donation box have brought the temple into discussion for a different reason.
