Which truth did Kunti tell Yudhishthir?
According to Shanti Parva of Mahabharata, when the war ended, all the Pandavas like Yudhishthir were performing Shraddha rituals for their dead relatives. At that time his mother Kunti also asked Yudhishthir to perform Shraddha of Danveer Karna. When Yudhishthir asked, ‘Karna is not of Bharatvanshi nor do we have any relatives, so how can I perform his Shraddha?’
Hearing Yudhishthir’s words, Kunti said, ‘Karna was none other than my eldest son, hence you should perform his Shraddha only then his soul may also attain salvation.’
Yudhishthir felt very sad after hearing the story of Karna’s birth from his mother and said to his mother Kunti, ‘If you had told this earlier, we would have been saved from the sin of our brother’s death.’
