Swachh Sundar Samarth Lucknow campaign: Will Lucknow become the cleanest city in the country? Will the development model of Yogi government change the picture of UP? Is the government ready to deal with the energy crisis? With projects worth Rs 413 crore, CM Yogi gave a big message regarding development, cleanliness and good governance.
Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while thanking the people of the state, said that for the first time, the people made BJP win the post of mayor in all the 17 municipal corporations and party boards were formed in every municipal corporation. He said that it is the result of this trust that in the last three years, the municipal corporations have set new standards in the field of development and cleanliness.
CM said that it took time to correct the corruption and irregularities of the previous governments, but now the development work is progressing rapidly. He said that the money spent on development belongs to the public and the government is only ensuring its proper utilization. This is the inspiration for the good governance model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Lucknow got the gift of development projects worth Rs 413 crore
In a program organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a big gift to the people of the city on the completion of three years of his tenure as the Mayor of Lucknow Municipal Corporation. He laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 342 development projects worth Rs 413 crore.
On this occasion, the booklet ‘Clean-Sundar-Samarth Lucknow’ was also released and a short film based on the achievements of the Municipal Corporation was shown. The Chief Minister congratulated the mayors of all 17 municipal corporations of the state, presidents of 200 municipal councils, 545 city panchayats and about 14 thousand councilors on the completion of their three-year tenure.
Emphasis on linking cleanliness campaign with public participation
CM Yogi said that Lucknow Municipal Corporation has got third place in the country in the cleanliness survey, but the aim is to take it to the first place. He said that cleanliness is not only the responsibility of the Municipal Corporation or the sanitation workers, but is the responsibility of every citizen. He appealed to the people to put household waste in dustbins, keep wet and dry waste separate, avoid single-use plastic and not throw garbage in drains. Also said not to damage government properties. Taking a dig at those who steal flower pots, the CM said that CCTV cameras are installed everywhere. If people buy a flower pot worth Rs 45, the city will remain beautiful and respect will also be maintained.
Mention of national inspiration and modern Lucknow
Giving the example of Rashtra Prerna Sthal, the Chief Minister said that where once there was a garbage dump for years, today a grand site has been prepared. Statues of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee have been installed here. He said that today metro, green corridors and modern public facilities have expanded rapidly in Lucknow.
Development by keeping the poor, youth, women and farmers at the center.
CM Yogi said that before 2017, housing schemes for the poor were not implemented effectively. He said that the present government has kept the poor, youth, women and farmers at the center of development plans without any discrimination. He said that houses were provided to more than 65 lakh poor families in the state. Accusing the opposition of doing politics of nepotism and nepotism, Yogi said that his government is working considering all citizens as family.
CM’s answer on opposition politics and development model
The Chief Minister said that the BJP government has set new patterns of development from the municipal body to the state and national level. He said that Lucknow Municipal Corporation issued bonds worth more than Rs 200 crore last year, whereas before 2017 its capacity was very less. He said that today the cities of the state are becoming clean, safe and better in terms of ‘ease of living’.
Appeal to people regarding energy crisis and electricity consumption
Referring to the global energy crisis, CM Yogi said that due to US-Iran tension and international situation, oil supply has been affected, due to which inflation has increased all over the world. Despite this, inflation has been kept under control to a great extent in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that many thermal power plants have been affected due to sudden increase in heat and increase in demand for electricity. In comparison to 2017, there has been a significant increase in both the demand and production of electricity in the state today. CM appealed to the people to use electricity only as per need and avoid rumours.
Targeted at those spreading rumors
Chief Minister Yogi said that those who spread rumors are not working in the interest of the country. He said that the previous governments ignored the rights of the poor, farmers, women and youth, whereas the present government has focused on the development of all sections. He said that the opposition is only doing negative politics, while the double engine government is working to find solutions to every problem.
Told Municipal Corporation as the center for solving civil problems
CM Yogi said that Municipal Corporation is the most important platform for solving the problems of the general public. He told that a new Municipal Corporation building is being constructed after 100 years. He also mentioned model cow shed, CNG production, compost manufacturing, natural farming and waste to wealth projects. Also the Integrated Command and Control Center was described as important for monitoring traffic, cleanliness and development works. He said that new schemes are being implemented to solve the problem of storm water management and urban waterlogging. Approval has also been given for the construction of a convention center with a capacity of 10 thousand people in Lucknow.
Appeal for cooperation from the public to make the development model successful
The Chief Minister said that it is necessary to strengthen the urban bodies to make Uttar Pradesh a 1 trillion dollar economy. He appealed to the public representatives and citizens to cooperate in development works so that the coming generations can get better cities and better facilities.
