In Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to conduct a comprehensive fire safety audit of hospitals, malls, hotels and coaching centers.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, in a high level review meeting held at the Secretariat, directed the officials to conduct a comprehensive fire safety audit across the state. He said that fire safety arrangements in hospitals, coaching centres, large shopping malls, hotels, commercial establishments and other public utility buildings should be thoroughly examined.

Chief Minister Dhami clearly said that the safety of citizens is one of the top priorities of the state government and ignoring fire safety standards will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Immediate action will be taken if any deficiency in fire fighting standards is found

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the officials to immediately identify the institutions where fire safety arrangements are not found to be as per the prescribed standards and take necessary corrective steps. He said that the working condition of fire safety equipment, availability of emergency exit routes, electrical safety arrangements and preparedness to evacuate people safely in case of any disaster should be specially examined. Also, it should be ensured that all institutions completely follow the security standards.

Instructions for better coordination between district administration and fire department

Chief Minister Dhami told the officials that effective coordination should be established between the fire department, district administration and related departments so that the process of fire safety audit can be completed within the stipulated time. He said that any kind of negligence in security related matters can lead to major incidents in future, hence all departments should discharge their responsibilities with seriousness and responsibility.

Sudhanshu, Secretary Home Mr. Shailesh Bagauli, Director General of Police Mr. Deepam Seth, Secretary Mr. Vinay Shankar Pandey, DG Information and Security Mr. Abhinav Kumar, IG Mrs. Riddhim Aggarwal, Additional Secretary Mr. Banshidhar Tiwari and Additional Secretary Mrs. Trupti Bhatt and many senior officers were present.
