Many shocking facts have come to light on the suspicious death of the wife of Manoj Kumar, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Jale Block of Darbhanga district in Bihar. BDO’s wife Amrita Kumari died under suspicious circumstances in Kanhauli Bela of Mithanpura police station area in Muzaffarpur late on Friday night.
After Amrita’s death, her family accused BDO Manoj Kumar and his family members of murdering her by poisoning her. After the death of Amrita Kumari, it also came to light that BDO Manoj Kumar had illicit relations with another woman. Amrita opposed this a lot, due to which she had to face harassment.
‘Illegal relationship discovered after marriage’
The family members of deceased Amrita Kumari have filed a complaint at Mithanpura police station, making several serious allegations against BDO Manoj Kumar, in which Manoj Kumar and his family members have been accused of murdering Amrita by poisoning her. In the complaint given to the police by the mother of the deceased, Amrita came to know about Manoj’s illicit relationship with another woman after some time of marriage. When Amrita protested against the illicit relationship of BDO Manoj, she had to become a victim of harassment. According to Amrita’s family members, Manoj’s family members used to beat her every day.

Manoj Kumar, BDO of Jale in Darbhanga, is originally a resident of Pier police station area of Muzaffarpur district. Manoj Kumar met Amrita Kumari during his preparation for BPSC in Muzaffarpur in 2015. Amrita, a resident of Bela police station area of Sitamarhi district of Bihar, was also preparing for competitive examination in Muzaffarpur. Their meeting gradually turned into love and then the matter reached marriage.

Meanwhile, Amrita went to Patna to prepare for the competition, but both of them kept meeting and talking to each other often. Manoj Kumar was selected for the post of Auditor in the Defense Ministry in May 2018 and his first posting was in Allahabad (Prayagraj). After this, Manoj Kumar and Amrita got married in the court in 2020 and both started living together in Allahabad. Then on December 9, 2022, they got married in front of both their families and people of the society.

While talking to NDTV over phone, Manoj Kumar told that along with the job of Defense Ministry, Manoj prepared for BPSC and was selected for the post of Block Development Officer in August 2022. Manoj said that after marriage, Amrita always used to stay with him and sometimes she also used to stay at his house located in Mithanpura police station area of Muzaffarpur district.

Rejected the allegations against him
Manoj told that when he was in Patna on Saturday during his training, he got information that his wife had committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance. After which he reached his home. Manoj Kumar says that he never had any differences with Amrita except minor disputes, so why did Amrita take such a big step? On the allegations made by the in-laws, Manoj Kumar said that all the allegations are completely baseless.
The mother of the deceased even alleged that Manoj Kumar is using his influence to influence the local police, due to which the police is not registering an FIR. Meanwhile, Town DSP Suresh Kumar said on Saturday that at present a case of suicide has come to light. He clarified that till now no written application has been received from the family members. As soon as the application is received, further strict legal action will be taken on its basis.
