Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated as the chief guest in the Loktantra Senani Regional Conference organized at Ravindra Bhawan in Bhopal on Friday, June 26. He inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp and honored the democracy fighters by showering flowers on them. On this occasion, 96 year old democracy fighter Laxmi Narayan Patidar, 95 year old democracy fighter Shanti Lal Sanghvi and former minister Uma Shankar Gupta were specially felicitated. A short film based on the Emergency was also screened during the conference.
CM Mohan Yadav spoke on Emergency, raised questions on Congress’ ideology
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said in his address that this conference of democracy fighters reminds of important events in the democratic history of the country. He said that even after independence, Congress many times tried to weaken democratic values.
He said that after the Second World War, many countries developed rapidly, but India should also have progressed according to its potential. Raising questions on the policies of Congress, he said that the fourth generation of Indira Gandhi is active in politics today, but there has been no major change in the thinking and working style of the party.

Recalling the period of Emergency, the Chief Minister said that the situation at that time was very difficult. The head of the family was sent to jail without any clear procedure. People neither got legal aid nor information about what would happen next. The families went through economic and social crisis.
He said that MISAbandhis were pressurized to join Congress and support Indira Gandhi. Describing the struggle of democracy fighters as the second major battle of the freedom movement, Dr. Yadav said that due to their sacrifice and sacrifice, the democracy of the country is safe today. He said that today a person from an ordinary family can become the Prime Minister of the country, this is the biggest strength of democracy.
Attack on Congress for misuse of the Constitution
The Chief Minister said that India is continuously moving forward on the path of development, while Pakistan, which became independent with India, is still facing democratic instability. He said that it is the responsibility of every citizen to protect democracy. He alleged that Congress talks about the Constitution but it misused it the most. He said that Congress ruled for years, but worked to promote only one family. On the contrary, many historic development works have been done in a limited time under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Referring to the centenary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the Chief Minister said that the Sangh has played its role in the interest of the country in every crisis and has carried forward the tradition of social service.
Democracy Fighters Association remembered the struggle of emergency
State President of Loktantra Senani Sangh Tapan Bhowmik said that the MISA prisoners who were jailed during the Emergency during 1975 to 1977 are being honored in the conference. He said that the tradition of honoring democracy fighters has been continuing in the state for the last decade. He said that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s father had himself been a Misabandi, hence the Chief Minister has closely understood the suffering of democracy fighters. He called it the good fortune of the state that today the son of a Misabandi is leading the state as the Chief Minister.
Demand to give equal respect to democracy fighters as freedom fighters
National President of Loktantra Senani Sangh and former MP Kailash Soni said that Emergency was the most difficult period of Indian democracy. He said that the union of democracy fighters provides new energy. He said that democracy fighters should get equal respect as freedom fighters in the entire country. Also, the assistance amount of Rs 30 thousand given to them should be made income tax free. Former Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki said that the Madhya Pradesh government is providing financial assistance of Rs 30 thousand per month to democracy fighters. He appreciated the extension of respect and facilities by the government.

- Free stay facility for two days will be available in all the rest houses and circuit houses of the state.

- Parks, roads and sports grounds will be named after democracy fighters.
- Free treatment and air ambulance facility will be provided to democracy fighters.

- The government will also implement the suggestions of democracy fighters on issues related to the development and public welfare of the state on priority.
