You cannot go to the court directly on 14th December to get your challan settled, you will have to complete the online process for the token a few days before the Lok Adalat, this process starts a few days in advance.

Register like this

Visit the website of National Legal Services Authority at nalsa.gov.in. After going to the official website, go to the services section, then click on the option of Apply Legal AID. Now an application form will appear in front of you, fill all the required details in it and upload the documents. After filling all this, read it carefully and click on submit to complete the registration process. To appear in Lok Adalat, a token number is required. Read its process below.

Lok Adalat Token

After registering online on the State Traffic Police Portal or State Legal Services Authority Portal, click on the option of Generate Token. Fill your required details here and generate the token. After doing this, take a print out of the appointment. Appear in court on the date and time mentioned in the appointment.

Make sure that you reach on the mentioned date and time, try to reach a little before time, take the print of token number appointment, traffic challan and other documents with you.

These documents are necessary

To settle the challan in Lok Adalat, you have to take with you a copy of the challan, vehicle documents, driving license, ID proof, record of previous challan, court notice/summons and vehicle insurance.

These traffic challans can be waived in Lok Adalat

  • If a person has broken normal traffic rules, like not wearing seat belt, not wearing helmet and breaking red light, these challans can be settled in Lok Adalat.
  • If the challan is only related to breaking of normal traffic rules and there is no serious crime or accident involved, then the chances of such challan being settled are high.
  • It is most important that you are available on time on the day of Lok Adalat. There the traffic police and judicial officers together resolve the matter.
