A woman’s Instagram post about her mother’s thoughtful gesture went viral. While traveling, she discovered her mother had secretly packed her favorite parathas, despite being asked not to. The surprise also included a packet of moong dal, as her mother remembered she enjoys a savory snack with her meal.
A simple gesture from a mother has won hearts online after a woman travelling to Delhi discovered a surprise her mother had quietly packed in her bag. Akanksha, who was travelling from her hometown to Delhi, shared the emotional moment on Instagram, saying she had specifically asked her mother not to pack anything for her.
However, when Akanksha reached Indore to catch her bus to Delhi, her mother called and asked her to open her trolley bag. She then revealed that she had packed her daughter’s favourite ghee parathas for the journey.
Akanksha initially thought that was the entire surprise. But when she opened the bag, she found a packet of moong dal alongside the parathas. Her mother had remembered that her daughter likes to eat namkeen with her parathas and had thoughtfully packed it as well.
Sharing the moment, Akanksha said, “I was not expecting anything else. But when I opened it, I found a moong dal ka packet with my favourite ghee parathas, because she knows that I can’t have anything without namkeen.”

The gesture became particularly emotional for Akanksha because she was travelling away from home. Reflecting on the importance of such small acts of love, she said, “If you’re living away from your parents, you understand how little things matter.”
