In the Mahapanchayat held here on Sunday amid the strictness of the Uttarakhand High Court, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Goshamahal, Telangana, T. Raja asked Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to teach a lesson to land jihadists like his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath.
Raja, while addressing the Mahapanchayat organized by the Hindu organization Devbhoomi Vichar Manch at Ramlila Maidan against a mosque here, said that he has come here from Hyderabad to ask Chief Minister Dhami to discuss with Yogi Adityanath over tea. He said that the way Yogi ji teaches a lesson to the land jihadis in Uttar Pradesh, you (Dhami) also need to buy some bulldozers in Uttarakhand.
Controversy continues regarding mosque
The Uttarakhand High Court, while hearing a petition filed in the wake of the ongoing dispute over the mosque, on Wednesday had asked the Uttarkashi district administration to maintain law and order in the city. In the petition, a request was also made not to allow the Mahapanchayat, on which the state government told the court that its permission has not been granted. But the district administration had given conditional permission for the Mahapanchayat on Friday.
Support of one crore Hindus
Claiming that CM Dhami has the support of one crore Hindus of the state, Raja said that he should understand their feelings. He said that they (Hindus) want land jihad free Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is heaven but the conspiracy to make it hell is being done by land jihadists, CM Dhami needs to be careful and teach them all a lesson.
Land Jihadis must be driven out
Raja told the people present in the Mahapanchayat that the political parties who come to ask for their votes should make them realize that to win the elections, they will have to drive out the land jihadists from there. He told the youth that this is not only an issue of Uttarkashi but of entire Uttarakhand and everyone needs to unite to avoid land jihad and love jihad.
Mosques being built illegally
Raja said that you should inculcate this in the minds of one crore Hindus here that we are one and whoever drives away the 25 lakh Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators will get our blessings. He said that mosques being built illegally need to be stopped. The BJP MLA said that this fight will also be fought through legal means.
Will make Uttarkashi a religious city
BJP MLA from Gangotri Suresh Chauhan and Hindu leader Swami Darshan Bharti also participated in the Mahapanchayat held under tight security. Chauhan said that the Dhami government of the state has taken strict steps on land jihad and love jihad and these will continue in future also. He also said that Uttarkashi will be made a religious city and meat, fish and liquor shops will be removed from here.
Mosque built on government land
In the Mahapanchayat, demands for investigation against love jihad, land jihad, illegal encroachment and people coming from outside states were raised. This mosque of Sunni community was built decades ago. However, Hindu organizations claim that the mosque is built illegally on government land. Earlier, in October, Hindu organizations had also taken out a rally demanding the demolition of the mosque.
After the police stopped the rally from going on Bhatwadi road, the protesters allegedly pelted stones and during this the police had to resort to mild lathi charge. 27 people, including seven policemen, were injured in the violent clash between police and protesters.
Threat to demolish the mosque
In view of the ongoing controversy regarding the mosque, the Uttarakhand High Court on Wednesday had ordered the Uttarkashi district administration to maintain law and order in the city and also keep the court informed about the situation in this regard. The High Court had given these orders to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Uttarkashi during the hearing on a petition filed by Uttarkashi’s organization Minority Seva Samiti regarding the security of the mosque, which had alleged that some organizations were trying to demolish the mosque, terming it ‘illegal’. Are threatening to do so.
The petitioner had also prayed to the court that the proposed Mahapanchayat against the mosque on Sunday should not be allowed. In response to this, Deputy Advocate General JS Virk, appearing in the court on behalf of the state government, had informed the bench that the district administration has not given permission to the proposed Mahapanchayat.
Hindu organizations allowed to hold Mahapanchayat
He also told the court that patrolling is being done day and night to maintain law and order in the city and the situation in the city is normal. The court has fixed December 5 as the next date for hearing the case. The district administration on Friday had given permission to Hindu organizations to hold Mahapanchayat with 15 conditions which included conditions like not giving hate speeches, not taking out rallies, not disrupting traffic, not inciting religious sentiments and maintaining peace and order.
