Dr. Pragya Kansal says that if the second line in the pregnancy test appears very light, then first of all do not panic and do not assume that the test is wrong. Sometimes even a light line can mean pregnancy. This often happens when you have done the test too soon.
At that time, the amount of pregnancy hormone i.e. HCG in the body is still less, hence the second line appears lighter. As pregnancy progresses, the amount of this hormone also increases. Therefore, if you test again after about two days, often the same line appears darker than before.
evaporation line
It is very important to keep one thing in mind. Many times the second line that is seen is not the real positive line, but the evaporation line. This can happen if you see test results after the time specified in the instructions. The true positive line has a light pink or blue color, while the evaporation line appears mostly colorless or light gray.

One more thing, if you have drunk too much water before taking the test, the urine may become diluted. Even in such a situation the second line may appear lighter. So if you see a second light-colored line within the time specified in the instructions, we consider it a presumptive positive. My advice would be to test again after about 48 hours, with your first urine in the morning. If you want definite confirmation, you can also get a blood test done. For this, beta HCG is tested and its results are quite accurate.
