Lift falls in Meerut hospital, pregnant woman dies due to neck entanglement; 3 others also injured

A tragic accident took place in Shastri Nagar, Meerut on Thursday. The lift of Capital Hospital located in Hapur Chungi suddenly broke and fell. There were three other people including a pregnant female patient in the lift at that time. The woman had delivered. He was being taken to the ground floor, when suddenly this accident happened and the lift broke and fell down. In the accident, the woman died after her neck got stuck in the lift. The remaining three people were also injured. After the accident, the attendants created a ruckus in the hospital and vandalized it. Police reached the spot on information and pacified the people.

According to the information, this accident happened at around 6 pm on Thursday evening. The pregnant woman was being brought down through the lift. There were other patients and attendants with him, when the lift strap broke before reaching the ground floor. Within a few seconds the lift came down with a thud. As soon as the lift fell down, the neck of the pregnant woman got badly stuck in it. He died on the spot, while the three other people were also seriously injured.

Vandalism in Capital Hospital

Capital Hospital is a famous hospital of Meerut. As soon as information about the accident was received, the family members of the female patient reached the spot and started screaming. Angry family members broke the glass and beds of the hospital. An atmosphere of chaos was created in the entire hospital premises. Police reached the spot on information and controlled the situation. Civil Line CO Abhishek Tiwari said that the incident is being investigated. CCTV footage is being scrutinized. In the initial investigation, there is a possibility of malfunction of the lift. At present the hospital management has shifted all the patients to another hospital.

The condition of the pregnant woman’s family is crying and crying.

The family members of the deceased woman are extremely hurt by this accident. He accused the hospital management of negligence. The hospital administration is under question after the incident. This incident points to the lack of safety standards and periodic checking of equipment in hospitals. Patients and their families have demanded that strict action be taken against the culprits.

Patients shifted to another hospital

SP City Ayush Vikram Singh also reached the spot after this accident. He told that a team has been formed to investigate the accident. Investigation will be done on all aspects. The patients of the hospital have been shifted to another hospital.
