New Delhi, 31 January (HIST). Five out of six accused in the Parliament security lapse case have filed a petition in Delhi’s Patiala House Court, alleging that they will be given electric shock in jail for naming leaders of opposition parties in this case. On the petition of the five accused, the court has issued a notice to the Special Cell of Delhi Police and sought their reply. The next hearing of the case will be on February 17.
By filing a petition in Patiala House Court, Sagar Sharma, Manoranjan D, Lalit Jha, Mahesh Kumawat and Amol Shinde have alleged torture in jail. Two of the accused have said that during the polygraph test, they were pressurized to confess to the crime and take the names of the opposition party leaders behind this conspiracy. The petition states that they were forced to give passwords of their social media accounts, e-mails and phones.
Earlier on January 27, the court had directed the Tihar Jail administration to present all the accused in the court on January 31. Today itself, the court has extended the judicial custody of all the six accused in this case till March 1.
