Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra filed a petition in the Bombay High Court. Where he demanded the cancellation of the FIR filed against him. However, Kunal Kamra has got relief from arrest. Also, the Bombay High Court has sought a reply from the Maharashtra government on the petition filed by Kunal Kamra.
In fact, Kunal Kamra called Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde a traitor. After which an FIR was lodged at Khar police station in Mumbai. Justice Sarang Kotwal and SM Modak State and complainants have issued formal notice. Also, the next hearing of the case will be held on 16 April. The time of which is kept at 2.30 pm.
Kunal Kamra relief from arrest
In fact, in view of this matter, it has been postponed that the Madras High Court had already granted Kamra anticipatory bail till 17 April. Kunal Kamra first sought an antisipatory bell in the firstmadras High Court, as he hails from Villupuram in Tamil Nadu. The Madras High Court granted him anticipatory bail till 7 April. Which was later extended till 17 April. However, Kamra later moved to the Bombay High Court to cancel the FIR.
When the petition was heard in this case on Tuesday, time has been sought from the state government. At the same time, Kamra’s lawyer said that anticipatory bail was extended by the Madras High Court on Monday itself. However, the order has not yet been published on the court website. At the same time, he has requested from the Bombay High Court to hear the petition today.
Kunal Kamra’s security threatened
At the same time, Kamra’s lawyer said in the court that, if the state should be given time to answer, then the police should not insist on Kunal Kamra’s personality present. Because their safety in Maharashtra is threatened. He also informed that Kunal Kamra is ready to respond to the police through video conference. Rather, the matter has been postponed to 16 April.
