Kuldeep Yadav Signs for Yorkshire: Indian Spinner Joins for One-Day Cup and County Championship Fixtures

English county side Yorkshire has signed Indian international left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav as an overseas player for the remainder of the 2026 domestic season.

The 31-year-old will feature in five Metro Bank One-Day Cup matches and three Rothesay County Championship fixtures, bolstering the White Rose’s spin options on dry pitches.

Yadav will make his debut for Yorkshire immediately, joining the squad for Friday’s One-Day Cup clash against Glamorgan at Neath in south Wales. He will return in September for three of the club’s final four red-ball games.

“I’m really pleased to be joining Yorkshire and grateful for this opportunity. It will be a real privilege to represent a club with Yorkshire’s proud history,” Yadav said in the club’s official statement.

“I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of playing in English conditions and after speaking with the management, I became really excited to join up with the team, and I’m looking forward to making a positive contribution during my time at Headingley,” he added.

A proven performer at the highest level, Yadav has taken 79 Test wickets at an impressive average of 22 in just 18 matches, including a standout 19-wicket haul against England in the 2024 home Test series.

In ODIs, he boasts 194 wickets with best figures of 6-25. He was notably omitted from India’s playing XI during the recent 2-1 ODI series loss to England, despite being part of the squad.

Yorkshire’s General Manager of Cricket, Gavin Hamilton, welcomed the signing: “Kuldeep is an accomplished, international-quality player who will add incredible strength to our line-up for these blocks of fixtures. Given the dry summer we’ve experienced, we expect spin to play an important role during the closing stages of the season. Kuldeep gives us another dimension with his left-arm wrist spin and brings a wealth of experience at the highest level. We’re delighted to welcome him to Yorkshire.”
