Singh believes that this path will unite Hindus and further strengthen their religious faith.

There has been no decline in the number of pilgrims in the last few years, but the lack of increase in the number is a cause for concern.

Dr. Singh was born in Saharsa, Bihar

Padmashree Dr. R.N. Singh is a famous orthopedic specialist of the country. Dr. Ravindra Narayan Singh was born in Golma village of Saharsa district of Bihar. After obtaining MBBS degree from Patna Medical College and Hospital in 1970 and MS degree in 1976, he served as a teacher of Anatomy in Nalanda Medical College. After some time he left for England for higher education. He worked extensively as a teacher of Anatomy at Queens Medical College, Nottingham and also made important contributions to many other institutions.

Dr. Ravindra obtained Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1976 and MCh degree in Orthopedics from Liverpool University, London. After some time, he received many job offers from abroad. But his father, who was a famous district judge of his time, wanted his son to return to India and serve his motherland and live among his own people.

Has done great work in the field of medicine

After returning to India, Dr. Singh started his private practice and at this time Dr. R. N. Singh is contributing as the director of Radha Vallabh Health Care and Foundation and director of Anoop Institute of Orthopedic and Rehabilitation.

Medical experts say that based on his experiences, Dr. Singh has prepared the model of his hospital, today only four main hospitals in India are working on that model, which include Sancheti Hospital (Pune), Kulkarni Institute. (Mirage), Ganga Hospital (Puducherry) and Bhattacharya Institute of Orthopedics (Kolkata).

Dr. R.N. Singh also established Savera Cancer and Multispeciality Hospital in Patna. This hospital has all the modern facilities along with experienced doctors related to cancer treatment. In view of his achievements, Outlook magazine awarded him ‘Icons of Bihar’ in 2018.

Leader in the field of social service

Apart from being a doctor, Dr. Singh is also a high class social worker. Keeping in mind the desire to serve the society and provide free treatment to poor patients, Dr. Singh joined Patna Red Cross Society in the year 1983 and has been treating 20 patients free of cost every Tuesday for the last three decades. Dr. Singh also joined Kishore Dal Shishu Bhawan (Orphanage), Rajendra Nagar, Patna in the year 1990 and provided every possible help to the girls living in this orphanage by providing them rooms, food, free education and jobs in his hospital. After the sudden death of his third daughter Pushpanjali Singh in 2003, Dr. Ravindra and his wife Kavita Singh started ‘Pushpanjali Shiksha Kendra’, where free education is provided to children from poor families. Dr. Ravindra also believes that capable people should adopt at least one girl child and take the responsibility of her education, so that they can join the mainstream of the society.
