The price of LPG (LPG) in the country has been increased by Rs 29 per cylinder. This is the second increase in three months as government fuel retailers continue to face challenges due to growth in the global energy market. According to industry sources, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi will increase from Rs 913 to Rs 942 from today (June 7).
This is the second increase after the increase of Rs 60 per cylinder made on March 7 after the conflict in West Asia disrupted global energy supplies and increased international fuel prices. According to sources, before the latest revision, government oil marketing companies were incurring a loss of about Rs 703 on each LPG cylinder sold.
The price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 29. In Delhi, 14.2-Kg Domestic LPG Cylinder prices increased from Rs 913 to Rs 942. New rate will be effective from June 7.

Prices of commercial cylinders also increased
In fact, with the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, speculations about increase in the prices of LPG domestic cylinders also started. Despite problems in supply due to the war between Iran, Israel and America that started on February 28, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders were not increased. However, the government had increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders on May 1. The price of commercial cylinder was increased by Rs 993 and that of five kg cylinder by Rs 261. After this, on June 1, commercial cylinders became costlier by Rs 42.
There was no problem in supply
Regarding the supply of LPG gas cylinders, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas had said in an official statement that the supply is completely normal. Despite the crisis, there has been no shortage of gas at any retail gas agency. The ministry also said that continuous action is being taken across the country to stop hoarding and black marketing of LPG gas cylinders.
adequate reserves of crude oil
The government said that despite the Hormuz crisis, necessary steps are being taken to ensure uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and LPG across the country. Also, all the refineries are working at high capacity and have adequate reserves of crude oil. Local LPG production in refineries has also been increased.
