Difficult to get a chance even in the opening

No place in middle order
Shubhman Gill batted at number 3 in the second ODI against Afghanistan. In his place, Yashasvi Jaiswal got a chance to open the innings with Rohit Sharma, although the lefty batsman could not capitalize on this opportunity. When Virat Kohli returns to Team India, Gill will once again reach his opening spot. Whereas the middle order will be completely packed. Apart from Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya also has to make a comeback in the team.
In such a situation, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will open the innings. Whereas Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will play the role of middle order. Team India has players like Hardik Pandya for finishers. India has no place for Ishan Kishan in the top-5.

Like the 2023 World Cup, Ishan Kishan can definitely get a backup player ticket for the 2027 World Cup. He can be the backup option to KL Rahul in wicket-keeping. Whereas in the top-5, if any player gets injured or someone’s form fluctuates, then Ishan Kishan may get a chance. There is no way he gets a place in the starting playing XI.
Rohit Sharma’s form concerns may increase
