Hints of secret marriage in mobile data, WhatsApp chat becomes important evidence
According to police investigation, WhatsApp chats and other digital records recovered from the mobile phones of accused Chetan and Siya indicate that the two had allegedly got married secretly about four months ago. Initial investigation has also revealed that both of them had hidden the information about this alleged marriage from their families.
The investigating agencies are now verifying these chats, photos, documents and other digital records to clarify what was the real status of their relationship. Police believe that this evidence can help in linking the events before the crime.
Claims of gathering information about crime web series and legal process before murder
On the basis of mobile data revealed in the investigation, the police have claimed that before the incident, both the accused had watched many web series and films based on crime. It is currently being investigated whether these online activities had any connection with the alleged murder plan.
Apart from this, police say that Siya Goyal had allegedly searched on the internet for information related to police investigation, process of interrogation of female accused, rules of custody and legal action in serious criminal cases. According to officials, the purpose and time-frame of these digital activities are part of the forensic investigation.
Claim to investigate information related to Sonam Raghuvanshi case also
According to Pune Rural Police, investigation has also revealed that Sia had also tried to find legal information related to bail in the famous Sonam Raghuvanshi murder case. The police are also investigating under what circumstances the female accused can get legal relief and what is the process of defense in the court.
At present, the police is conducting a detailed forensic investigation of mobile data, internet search history, WhatsApp chats and other electronic evidence. Officials have clarified that the investigation is still ongoing and the final findings will come only after verification of all digital and scientific evidence.
