Lohagad Fort Murder Case: New revelations are continuously emerging during the investigation into the death of Pune businessman Ketan Aggarwal. Now the statement of a security guard posted at the ticket counter of Lohgarh Fort has added a new aspect to this case. Guard Dheeraj Jadhav told that on the morning of June 18, he had seen the three people Ketan Aggarwal, his fiancee Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary. Investigating agencies believe that by linking the events of that day, many links to the alleged conspiracy emerge.
Ketan and Siya were the first to arrive together
According to Dheeraj Jadhav, on the morning of June 18, Ketan Aggarwal and Siya Goyal reached the ticket counter of Lohgarh Fort together. Both tried to book entry tickets online, but there was a network problem at that time. The staff present at the counter told him that the network is better towards the top of the fort. After this the staff asked them to take a picture of the QR code scanner, go up and make the payment and show the proof while returning.
Chetan Chaudhary arrived alone after a few minutes
According to the guard, a few minutes after Ketan and Siya left, another man reached there alone. The man was Chetan Choudhary, whom police consider to be Sia’s alleged lover and co-accused in the case. Dheeraj Jadhav told that Chetan was wearing headphones and had pulled his hoodie down in such a way that his face was not clearly visible. His activities seemed different from those of ordinary tourists.
What happened at the ticket counter?
According to the report of news agency ANI, when security personnel stopped Chetan, he told that he had come there only for exercise. He said he would pay for the ticket when he returned. After this he left running ahead. According to the guard, Chetan never returned later to pay for the ticket. At the same time, Ketan Aggarwal also did not return alive that day.
Suspicion strengthened by CCTV footage
Police say that the guard’s statement further strengthens what had already emerged from the CCTV footage. According to investigators, Chetan’s arrival at the fort was not accidental. Police claim that he had reached the foothills of the fort that morning before Siya and Ketan and was waiting for the right moment. After this he allegedly followed both of them towards the fort.
Wearing a hoodie in 33 degrees becomes an important point of investigation
According to police officials, the temperature in the area on June 18 was around 33 degrees Celsius. Investigators found it unusual for a man to be completely wearing a hoodie and covering his face in such weather. For this reason, special attention was paid to Chetan’s activities during the investigation of CCTV footage.
Suspicious activity seen in CCTV
According to the police, in a CCTV clip, Sia Goyal is suddenly seen looking back. At the same time, the person wearing a hoodie present in the frame, who is later revealed to be Chetan, suddenly sits down. Investigators believe this behavior may indicate contact and mutual coordination between the two. However, final confirmation of these claims will take place during the judicial process.
Police claim- the incident took place in a deserted place
Investigating agencies allege that Siya and Chetan together pushed Ketan Aggarwal into a ditch about 400 feet deep in a deserted rocky area above the fort. Police say that after the incident, Siya shouted for help and told the family that Ketan’s foot had slipped while getting the photo clicked.
The family did not accept the accident claim
Ketan Aggarwal’s family had raised questions on the accident theory from the very beginning. Family members said that Ketan was an experienced trekker and it seems unusual for him to suddenly slip and fall like this. On this basis, the family lodged a formal complaint, after which the investigation of the case was started from the angle of murder.
Both the accused are in police custody
At present, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have been arrested. Both the accused have been sent to police custody till June 29. Police are investigating the case from various aspects and are examining digital evidence, CCTV footage and other information. Further action in the case will be decided based on the findings of the investigation and the evidence to be presented in the court.
