Pune (Maharashtra) [भारत]July 16 (ANI): In a significant development in the Ketan Agarwal murder investigation, the judicial custody of both the accused in the case, Sia Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, has been extended for another period of 14 days.
Speaking to ANI, Radhikesh Uttarwar, lawyer for accused Chetan Choudhary, said the court has partially accepted his application, which sought to preserve the CCTV footage of the entry, exit and lobby areas of the Pune Rural SP’s office and produce it before the court within 15 days. The lawyer alleged that Choudhary was brought to the office about 12 hours before the formal registration of the FIR in the Ketan Agarwal murder case.

Uttarwar told ANI, “The 14-day magisterial custody or judicial remand granted to both the accused has now been extended till the next date. For now, it has been extended for another period of 14 days. The court has partially allowed our application saying that the CCTV footage of the entry, exit and lobby areas of the Pune Rural SP’s office – where we have alleged that Chetan was arrested – about 12 hours before the FIR was filed was brought earlier – be preserved and produced before the Court within a period of 15 days. The IO (Investigating Officer) has admitted in reply to our application that Chetan was in fact brought to the SP office by the local crime branch officials.”
Accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are currently lodged in Yerwada Central Jail in judicial custody in connection with the Ketan Agarwal murder case. His current judicial custody was scheduled to end on Thursday, when he was expected to be produced in the court for further orders.
The alleged marriage is also being investigated
Earlier, a team of Pune Rural Police visited Khatu Shyam Mandir in Rajasthan to confirm reports of alleged marriage between Sia Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, accused in connection with the Ketan Agarwal murder case, a senior police officer said today.
According to the official, the police sought CCTV footage from the temple premises as part of the verification process. However, no CCTV footage was found. Police have not officially confirmed the alleged marriage and said the verification process is part of the ongoing investigation into the case. Earlier, reports had surfaced that Sia Goyal and Chetan Choudhary reportedly had a secret wedding at the Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan.
Ketan Agarwal was allegedly murdered by his fiancee Siya and her friend and alleged lover Chetan Babulal Chaudhary at Lohgarh Fort near Pune on June 18, and the case is under investigation. (ANI)
