Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, after reviewing the Kedarnath reconstruction and Badrinath master plan, gave instructions to speed up construction works, waste management and complete the projects on time.
Dehradun. Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed the progress of Kedarnath Dham reconstruction and redevelopment works and Badrinath Master Plan at the Secretariat. In the meeting, he took detailed information about the ongoing construction work under both the important projects and directed the officials to complete all the work within the stipulated time.
Review of physical and financial progress of Kedarnath reconstruction works
The Chief Secretary reviewed in detail the physical and financial progress of all the ongoing construction works in Kedarnath Dham. He took information from the officials about the current status of each project, its expenditure and the stipulated time frame for completion of the work. He gave clear instructions that all the projects should be monitored regularly so that there is no delay in the works.
Instructions to start construction of six new blocks immediately
In the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that the work on the six blocks whose construction is yet to start in Kedarnath Dham should be started immediately without any delay. He directed the officials to continuously monitor the construction works so that all the projects are completed on time.
Comprehensive waste management plan will be made for Kedarnath Yatra
The Chief Secretary directed the District Magistrate of Rudraprayag to prepare a comprehensive and integrated waste management plan for the Kedarnath Yatra area. He said that complete arrangements should be ensured for safe and systematic disposal of the waste generated during the yatra. He assured the officials that the necessary financial, technical and all other support for this scheme will be provided by the state government.
Work on Badrinath Master Plan Phase-1 and Phase-2 will have to be expedited
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary also reviewed the ongoing development works under Phase-1 and Phase-2 of Badrinath Master Plan. Taking information about the physical and financial progress of each project, he directed the officials to expedite the works as per the stipulated timeline. He said that all types of content and artwork related to the project should also be started in parallel so that the entire plan can be completed on time.
Operation and maintenance system will be ready in Kedarnath and Badrinath
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned District Magistrates to prepare a clear framework in advance for the operation and maintenance of all the assets and facilities being developed in Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham. He said that if the operating agencies are determined in advance, then there will be no problem in determining the maintenance and responsibilities after the transfer of the projects.
Senior officials were present in the meeting
Secretary Dhiraj Garbyal, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar along with District Magistrates and other senior officers of the respective districts were also present in the meeting. All the officers informed the Chief Secretary about the progress of the projects and assured to complete the work within the stipulated time.
