Karuppu Star Suriya Asks Vijay Deverakonda For ‘Good Holiday Spot,’ Ranabaali Actor Jokes PM Asked Not To Go Abroad

On X (formerly Twitter), Suriya replied to Vijay congratulating him on the success of Karuppu and his advice to “take a nice holiday.” The Tamil actor asked Vijay which was a good holiday spot according to him. Vijay cheekily responded, “Prime Minister asked everyone not to go abroad.” He added that he would share Indian recommendations, where Suriya could have some peaceful private time on WhatsApp.

The two South stars have a strong bond and it reflects in their fun-loving social media interactions. Later, Suriya also joked with younger brother Karthi after he posted, “Idhukkumela Enna pa venum…summa therikkudu. Anbaana fans podu vediya.” Karthi praised the Karuppu team and asked fans to start celebrating, while also singling out director RJ Balaji, the cinematographer and composer Sai Abhayankar. Suriya asked his brother where his name was in all the praises. To which Karthi has replied, “It’s there no… Karuppa.”

Suriya responds to R Madhavan, Riteish Deshmukh

Besides Vijay and brother Karthi, Suriya also posted messages for fellow Tamil star R Madhavan and actor-filmmaker Riteish Deshmukh. Madhavan congratulated Suriya on Karuppu’s “humongous success” and added that he was so happy for his brother. Suriya shared his sentiments and said, “I know.. you will be happy.”

The Karuppu star also called Riteish the kindest and sent big congrats and respect for his new Marathi historical drama Raja Shivaji, where he plays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The feature is a 20-year passion project for Riteish that was finally released in theatres in May.

About the film Karuppu

Directed by RJ Balaji, Karuppu was originally due to be released on May 14. After facing some piracy issues, the Tamil film was released a day later in theatres worldwide. Suriya plays the guardian deity Karuppan who takes matters into his own hands after an innocent man is wronged by a corrupt lawyer.
