Director Rohit Shetty has brought the third film of the Singham franchise, Singham Again, on the big screen after almost 10 years. In this film, he introduced all the characters of his cop universe from old and upcoming films. About 8 big actors including Ajay Devgan were seen together in the film. Everyone was feeling that Singham would spoil Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 due to the clash with Kartik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on Diwali. But the opposite has happened. Box office figures are indicating that Karthik has overshadowed Ajay’s entire Paltan.
Apart from Ajay Devgan, stars like Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor were seen in Singham Again. Apart from this, a small cameo of Salman Khan was also kept in the film. Despite all this, Singham Again could not spoil Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
Collection of both films
On the first day, Singham Again did a business of Rs 43.5 crore at the box office. Whereas Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 had earned Rs 35.5 crores. Singham was ahead by a margin of a few crores. The figures that came the next day surprised. There was a decline in the earnings of Singham Again. It did a business of Rs 42.5 crore. On the other hand, Karthik’s film did 2.5 crore more business on Saturday and the earning reached 37 crores.
Alarm bells for Singham again
Critics and audiences are liking both the films. The earning figures so far also show that both the films are among the people’s favourites. But the thing to note is that in Singham, Rohit has fielded all the big stars. On the other hand, Karthik got the support of actresses like Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. Still, he is single-handedly taking on the 8 star film Singham Again and is also succeeding. Both the films are doing good business on weekends, but the decline in the earnings of Singham Again on Saturday is being considered as an alarm bell for the film. There will be a big test for Singham’s platoon on weekdays.
