Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the coastal districts of Karnataka are set to witness heavy rainfall.
The weather department asserted that along with heavy rain, the coastal and Malnad regions are also expected to receive strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning. Apart from this, several other districts are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days.
Rain Likely In These Regions
While providing details, the weather department stated that heavy rainfall is expected in several parts of the Dakshina Kannada region with surface winds of 30-40 km/h. It asserted that heavy rainfall is likely across the Malnad region, including Udupi, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, and Yadgir.
Apart from this, similar weather conditions are likely over Shimoga, Chikkamagaluru, and the Western Ghats of Kodagu due to strong monsoon inflows. While the schools in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have been closed tomorrow in the wake of heavy rain, a holiday has been declared for classes up to 10th in Mangalore, Ullal, Moodbidri, Bantwal, and Mulki taluks.
Bengaluru Weather Update
As per the advisory, the weather in capital city Bengaluru is likely to be generally cloudy with possibilities of light to moderate rainfall. Apart from this, strong surface winds gusting to 30-40 km/h are also expected in the silicon city. While there is no alert for heavy rainfall, the residents are expected to witness occasional rains, especially during the peak hours.
While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 28 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 21 degrees Celsius. The continuous rainfall in the coastal regions is likely to cause waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences to the commuters and locals.
The residents of these regions have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
