  • Maha Punya Kaal will start at 05.03 pm. On this day, this Maha Punya Kaal will last till 07:21 in the evening i.e. till the time of Punya Kaal.

In this way, the time of virtue on the day of Cancer Sankranti 06 hours 53 Minutes will last and the time of Maha Punya Kaal will last for 02 hours 18 minutes.

Importance of Cancer Sankranti (Karka Sankranti Significance)

According to the scriptures, on the day of Cancer Sankranti, the Uttarayan period ends and the Dakshinayan period begins. The period of Uttarayan and Dakshinayan lasts for six months each. The period of Dakshinayan starts from Karka Sankranti and continues till Mankar Sankranti. The time of Sun God’s transit from Cancer to Sagittarius is considered to be Dakshinayan period.
