Karim Tunda, the main accused in Ajmer bomb blast (1993), has been acquitted by the TADA court. Apart from this, the court convicted two other accused Imran and Hanimuddin. The verdict in this entire matter has come after 31 years. Ajmer, Rajasthan was shaken by the serial bomb blasts in 1993. Abdul Karim was caught from Nepal border in 2013.

When he came to India from Pakistan illegally. Since then Abdul Karim Tunda was lodged in Ajmer Central Jail. Whereas, Hanimuddin was arrested in 2010. This case was pending in TADA court since 2014. 17 people including Ansari were arrested in this case. Let us tell you that on the first anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid, there were serial bomb blasts in many trains.

We were saying from the beginning that he is innocent – ​​Tunda’s lawyer

After the acquittal of Abdul Karim Tunda, his lawyer Shafqat Sultani said that Abdul Karim Tunda is innocent. Today the court gave this decision. Abdul Karim Tunda has been acquitted in all sections and all acts. CBI could not present any concrete evidence before the prosecution court in any case related to TADA, IPC, Railway Act, Arms Act and Explosive Substances Act. Sultani said that we were saying from the beginning that Abdul Karim Tunda is innocent. Irfan and Hameeduddin have been convicted and will be sentenced soon.

What was the whole matter?

On 6 December 1993, on the anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, serial bomb blasts took place in trains of Kota, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Hyderabad and Surat. On February 28, 2004, the TADA court had sentenced 16 accused to life imprisonment in the case. In these, the apex court had acquitted four accused and reinstated the sentence of the remaining. TADA court gave its verdict against Abdul Karim Tunda, Hameeduddin and Irfan Ahmed. Among these, Abdul Karim Tunda has been acquitted.
